Spells are just prayers or wishes with our conscious intent behind them. When we add herbs, crystals, amulets or sigils to them, they boost our focus and add energy to ours..  

There's a  famous saying... give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach him to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Stick with me, there is actually a correlation. You can wish for somehting to happen, pray for it even and when it does, youu're relieved, ecstatic, joyous, etc. for that instance.  Now just imagine if you could tap into the channels that brought it into being.
