A Time for New Beginnings!

Ok, so I figure it's still a little early to be my sarcastic self and put just a slab of black for a picture of the new moon, but trust me it's coming.

Merry Meet, all, and welcome! This Tuesday is a new moon. The new moon means a time for new beginnings, a perfect time to press restart and begin with a fresh slate. Myself, I'm an eternal off-the-wagon dieter so I am actually grateful for every new moon, every Monday, and every sunrise. Seriously though, the new moon is a great time to wash clean of any negative energy, meditate on what energy you want to work on over the next couple of weeks, and begin growing it. Notice I said growing it? It's spring, so of course, it's the perfect time to work in some of that planting magic. It's actually my favorite new moon ritual. My entire garden is filled with spells. Yours can be as well.

THE CLEANSING:

I will be honest and unless it is a major holiday or I'm working with big energy, I rarely do a full ritual. I'm always very connected, but also very casual. While we usually have a saltwater rinse in the shower, I make sure it's available on the new moon. We kee plain salt in the bathroom and add some to a bottle, then add water when we're in the shower and just before we get out, we pour it over ourselves and then rinse off. It cleans the negative energy and gives you a fresh start to your day. If you want an extra kick, throw a salt and water safe crystal in there as well.

THE SPELL:

Those of you who are big on ritual will look upon me with shame as a witch and that's fine, I'm good with it. As my daughter would say, you do you Boo. Who the heck am I to judge, I am one of the strangest people in the lot, so I just go with the flow, all love here! Anyway, Spells? mine consists of me gathering my tribe of helpful spirits whoever they might be, honoring them with a nice candle and incense, so crystals and then I talk to them I thank them for all that I am grateful for and for all of their help in what I've accomplished in the past month. I let them know what I hoping to achieve and ask them for their help, remind them that I am not fond of pranks, I don't take kindly to any negativity and it will be dealt with harshly so if there is any of that sort of intent it should leave now. I have on rare occasions had to deal with negative energies, but let's just say less and less frequently.

Anyway once I've been very clear about my intentions, I thank them for listening and let them know that there will be refreshments later in the garden. In the evening I usually set out a dish of goodies, some incense a candle, and some crystals. BTW, Both my house and garden are warded which just means that they are blessed and have a boundary around them to keep out any negative energies. I refresh those wardings with each new moon.

THE PLANTING:

If the new moon falls during the growing season I try to plant at least one new thing in the garden or around my house. I choose it to fit whatever energy I'm trying to grow at that time. If I was actively trying to seek a relationship, I might plant a rose bush or an apple tree. I tell my spirit tribe that I'll be planting it and ask them to help it grow strong and healthy. Then I make sure I take care of it so my spell doesn't just up and die on me.

So what are your new moon rituals like? We would love to hear your ideas and the ways you celebrate as well. please do share with us.

Love Light, Joy, and Blessings all!
